Remade will be celebrating an exciting new chapter this Friday as it unveils its refreshed look at its Friary Walk space in Worcester, bringing together volunteers, community partners and special guests for an afternoon of inspiration, creativity and connection.
Councillor Louis Stephen has been invited to attend the event and meet Remade’s growing volunteer team, which now proudly numbers 43 volunteers. Guests will hear more about Remade’s expanding program of activities and its impact across Worcester and the surrounding areas.
Speaking about Remade, Councillor Louis Stephen said:
“Remade is an inspirational charity and enterprise. A treasure trove of and all things crafty has blossomed in what was once a redundant shop in the shopping centre in Friary Walk.”
The celebration will shine a spotlight on Remade’s Young Designers Club, whose members are currently preparing to take part in a Fashion Show at 3.30pm on Saturday 28 February at Friary Walk – a highlight event showcasing young creative talent and sustainable fashion in action.
Also featured will be Remade’s extensive community outreach work, supporting local nurseries, schools, craft clubs and community groups through its much-loved material boxes, helping organisations access affordable, sustainable creative resources.
Visitors will be able to learn more about Remade’s popular workshops, which include:
- Leatherwork
- Slow stitching for beginners
- Crochet and knitting
- The ever-popular Friday Fun sessions
Remade will also highlight its ongoing support for the Evesham Quilters, who work with local refugee groups to create handmade quilts that go home with the refugees, offering comfort, warmth and a lasting symbol of welcome.
The afternoon will culminate in a presentation celebrating the achievements of volunteers and partners, followed – as tradition firmly dictates – by Remade’s now infamous afternoon teas, which have become almost as talked about as the making itself.
This event marks not just a new look for Remade, but a renewed commitment to creativity, sustainability and the power of community – ideally enjoyed with a slice of cake and a decent brew.
